Position Description

As a Clinical Sales Specialist in the Chicago area, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Manage existing and build new clinical education courses including Hand Assisted Laparoscopic Surgery (HALS), Single-Site, Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS), etc.
  • Manage existing and build new cadaver/porcine courses for all surgical specialties according to hospital and departmental procedures
  • Oversee all aspects of running a lab
  • Develop course faculty
  • Attend, instruct and assist the Advanced Procedure Specialist team with simulation training programs for residents and surgeons
  • Develop and create course formats in conjunction with Applied Medical teams in order to roll out new products and procedures
  • Represent Applied Medical at national labs/conferences such as ACS, ASCRS, AUA, SAGES, ACOG, AAGL, etc.
  • Assist with follow-up on course leads
  • Work closely with the Applied Medical Clinical Education teams to meet their program objectives
  • Handle all aspects of surgeon proctorships for your geographic area

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • 3+ years of medical/surgical device sales experience
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong clinical and sales skills
  • Proven assertiveness in facilitating programs and events
  • Proficient at problem solving with situations in constant flux
  • Documented, superb follow-up skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Competent at multi-tasking
  • Experienced in creating, negotiating and monitoring budgets
  • Ability to work with all levels of hospital management and surgical specialties
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines
  • Experience in planning educational events
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel to Southern California for a 3-week training class
  • 4 year degree
